Course Information
Description Singing tonal music in various clefs, continued aural study of the elements of music, and dictation of intermediate rhythm, melody and diatonic harmony.�This course is part of the THECB approved Field of Study in Music.

Learning Outcomes
  1.  Apply a method of sight singing to diatonic melodies in various clefs, and oral demonstration of simple and compound rhythms.
  2.  Classify elements of music, such as scales, intervals and chords.
  3.  Transcribe more complex aural rhythms and diatonic melodies.
  4.  Transcribe and analyze diatonic harmonic progressions.
  5. Read and reproduce rhythms in various simple and compound meters.

Lecture Topics Outline This second semester we will:
1. Review chapters 10 through 20 from the first semester.
2. Study chapters 20-47 from the textbook Manual for Ear Training and Sight Singing.
3. Focus in Essential chapters for this second semester which are chapters 22, 25-27, 29, and 31- 47.






Major Assignments Schedule Assignments,  quizzes, and Exams are announced on a weekly basis.
Final Exam is on Thursday  May 4 from11 AM to 11:55 Am

Course Policies
Instructor Policies I will not discuss your grades over the phone or by email. If you want to discuss your grades, you must come to my office, in person.
Attendance Policy
Attendance is mandatory. If you miss more than four (4) classes during the semester you will be failing this class.
Class begins at 11 AM. Late entries into class are disruptive to those who come on time and counts as an absence.
Students are responsable follow up with the material lectured in each session.

COVID 19 Information The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
